A powerful 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia's Sulawesi island on Tuesday, triggering widespread tremors across the region. Indonesia's geophysics agency, BMKG, recorded the epicentre approximately 42 kilometres southeast of the town of Palu. The underground disturbance occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres. Authorities confirmed that the tremor posed no risk of triggering a tsunami.
