Amid ranch's overnight international popularity, Kraft is offering a solution to World Cup fans who can't bear to part with their favorite condiment on the way back home.
With several World Cup games being hosted in the United States this year, travelers from all over the globe are visiting to support their favorite soccer teams while discovering quintessential American cuisine in the process. Eager to bring their favorite dip back home, scores of fans are stowing bottles of ranch in their luggage — enough that TSA shared a PSA about liquid restrictions in carry-ons.
While TSA recommended packing large ranch bottles in checked bags, Kraft is proposing a different solution: Kraft TSA Compliant Ranch, which appears to essentially be several single-use packets that shouldn't violate any air travel rules — and doesn't require fans to be separated from the fan-favorite dip, even on the flight.
"Some visitors leave with souvenirs. Others leave with America's favorite dressing," Kraft wrote in an Instagram post on June 18. "Introducing Kraft TSA Compliant Ranch, a travel-friendly way to bring the taste of America home."
Kraft didn't share a launch date for its already highly anticipated new product, other than it's "coming soon."
In an Instagram post days earlier, TSA spoke directly to ranch lovers, in an effort to sate ranch cravings while still keeping air travel safe.
“Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: ranch is the king of condiments,” the TSA wrote in the caption of its Instagram post on June 16. “The world is slowly discovering ranch pairs perfectly with pizza, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, quesadillas, crackers, chips, vegetables, and the list just keeps growing.”
"Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip? If you're traveling within the U.S., make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less and place any larger containers in your checked bags," TSA concluded. "Some heroes wear capes. Others bring ranch."
In the post itself, TSA included a few (relatable) condiment jests — "ok please avoid chugging your ranch outside security the airlines will check it for you" and "days since the last airport ranch incident: 0" — to remind travelers to be intentional about packing their ranch.
Ranch was first created in the 1950s when plumbing contractor Steve Henson opened the Hidden Valley dude ranch with his wife in California, where he cultivated the perfect blend of herbs, spices, buttermilk and mayonnaise to create a flawless condiment.
