Four suspects arrested in the Deraniyagala area for allegedly obstructing police duties, assaulting officers, and possessing narcotics were remanded until July 03.

The Police Media Division announced that the individuals participated in an unlawful assembly and attacked police officers within the Deraniyagala police area on June 19.

Four police officers sustained injuries during the confrontation, and the statement noted that the suspects significantly obstructed the officers from executing their duties.

Additionally, officers seized 24,900 milligrams of narcotics found in the possession of the suspects at the time of the arrest.

The four suspects received medical treatment in the hospital following their arrest and were produced before the Avissawella Magistrate's Court yesterday, June 20, where the remand order was issued.
