Pharmacy owner fined for altering medicine prices

Pharmacy+owner+fined+for+altering+medicine+prices
A pharmacy owner was fined Rs. 10,000 today (16) for displaying medicines for sale with their marked prices crossed out.

Colombo Additional Magistrate H. D. Darshima Premaratne issued the order.

The order followed submissions made by the Consumer Affairs Authority when the case was called.

Investigating officers informed the court that they conducted the raid based on a tip-off.

The Consumer Affairs Authority stated to the court that they carried out the raid while the medicines were displayed for sale with their marked prices defaced.
