The Sri Lanka women's team recorded an eight-wicket win against the visiting Pakistan women's team today (25) in the second One Day International held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

Winning the toss, the Sri Lankan captain decided to field first, and accordingly, batting first, the Pakistan women's team scored 273 runs for five wickets at the end of the scheduled 50 overs.

Stepping into the field to chase a target of 274 runs, the Sri Lankan players scored 275 runs for the loss of two wickets in 46.5 overs to secure victory in this match.

Vishmi Gunaratne and Harshitha Samarawickrama built a record-breaking 203-run partnership for the second wicket, which stands as the highest run partnership for the second wicket in Sri Lankan women's ODI history.

Vishmi Gunaratne scored 123 runs off 123 balls with 11 fours and one six, while Harshitha Samarawickrama scored an unbeaten 100 runs off 119 balls with nine fours.

Playing a fast-paced innings in the latter stage, Kavisha Dilhari scored an unbeaten 40 runs off 33 balls with five fours to lead the team to victory, while in bowling, she bowled 10 overs and took one wicket for 53 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Malsha Shehani also bowled six overs and took one wicket for 26 runs.
