The Colombo Harbour security personnel started a protest this morning to oppose the suspension of two security officials attached to the Ports Authority.
They have been suspended allegedly over granting permission for trade union and the media to visit the Ports Authority workshop in Slave Island.
Earlier, the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS) branch in Ports Authority allege that furniture were being made inside the workshop for the use of Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and other high officials.
The Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya allege that the Minister and his family is misusing Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) property for their own use.
