Staff of the Mattala International Airport staged a protest in front of the airport today (24).
They are protesting against the government plan to privatize the facility.
Recently, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation obtained cabinet approval to create a public private partnership with an Indian firm to run the loss-making airport.
Our correspondent said around 300 staff took part in the protest, which was organized by the branch union of Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya.
