Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered Daisy Forrest, the Grand Mother of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, to give a statement to Financial Crimes Investigation division.
The order was issued today (22).
Police are investigating a case relating to an alleged acquiring of a Rs. 50 million worth house in Dehiwela by Yoshitha Rajapaksa under the name of Daisy Forrest.
Investigations are also underway to determine the source of funds. The case is now being probed under the Money Laundering Act.
The FCID informed the courts that they need to record a statement from Forrest, to further investigate this case.
They also said the outcome of the investigations carried out so far has been sent to the Attorney General.
The future course of action would be conveyed to the court, based on the AG's advice, the FCID officials said.
