President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister have declared open the Rajagiriya flyover a short while ago.
The 533m long, 21.4m wide and 4 lane Rajagiriya flyover was built at a cost of Rs. 4.7bn mainly financed by Spain.
In parallel to this project, several roads around the Rajagiriya area will be developed and an alternative road towards Narahenpita will be developed as well as the road towards Buthgamuwa will be developed with 3 lanes.
Addressing the gathering, the President said that this flyover can be considered as one of the most significant road development projects expeditiously completed by the present Government for the benefit of the people.
