V. Yogaraja of Ceylon Workers Congress has been appointed as the chairman of the Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha.
The UNP won the highest number of seats in this Pradeshiya Sabha in the recent Local Government election.
However, Ceylon Workers Congress Yogaraja secured 12 votes exceeding the UNP 9 votes in the vote taking held yesterday (Mar. 28).
The Ceylon Workers Congress was able to appoint its chairman with the support of the members of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
