Nimali knocks out in first round of 800m at Tokyo Olympics

Nimali Liyanarachchi of Sri Lanka also competed in the women's 800 meters today at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Nimali, who competed in the 4th preliminary round, finished last out of 08 contestants.

Raven Rogers of the United States won first place in 2 minutes 01.42 seconds and Nimali took 2 minutes 10.23 seconds.

The winner of this preliminary round was the US athlete as well as the British and Kenyan athletes who placed second and third qualified for the women's 800 m semi-finals.
