However, Sri Lanka's Police Media Spokesperson, Nihal Talduwa, has confirmed that this application is entirely false, and there is no such requirement or permission process.

Further investigation has revealed that this fake application has been circulating on Facebook since 2017 and has resurfaced recently. The misleading information seems to have gained traction due to a recent incident involving the Homagama Police.

The police conducted a raid in response to complaints from local residents about school-age minors engaging in inappropriate behavior in small covered cabins located in a garden owned by a private institution in Homagama town.

It's essential to be cautious of false information and rumors circulating on social media platforms. Verifying the authenticity of such claims with reliable sources, like official government statements or trusted news outlets, can help prevent the spread of misinformation and confusion among the public.
