175 divisions in 07 districts still at high risk of dengue

A total of 175 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions in Gampaha, Colombo, Matara, Kalutara, Kandy, Ratnapura, and Galle Districts are further identified as high-risk dengue divisions, the National Dengue Control Unit states.

The year-to-date recorded 68,672 dengue cases and 47 deaths, while the number of dengue cases reported within the first 12 days of July alone stands at 13,293.

Meanwhile, following the opportunity granted for school children to attend school dressed in suitable attire covering their arms and legs in addition to their uniform to protect themselves from mosquito bites, certain school children attended school dressed accordingly today.

Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Paulraj, participating in a press conference held in Colombo today, requested that preschool children wear suitable clothing that covers their arms and legs to protect against mosquito bites.
