The Colombo High Court has ordered the recall of the case filed against former Minister Rajitha Senaratne and three other defendants, alleging that they caused a loss to the government when the Modara Fisheries Harbour was leased to a private company while Senaratne served as the Fisheries Minister in 2014.
Colombo High Court Justice Navaratne Marasinghe today (3) ordered the case to be recalled on August 29.
The lawyer representing the Bribery Commission informed the court of their intention to amend the relevant charge sheet and requested a new date for this purpose, which the judge allowed.
The Bribery Commission filed this case against the then Minister of Fisheries, Rajitha Senaratne, and three other defendants, alleging that they caused a loss to the government by leasing the Modara Fisheries Harbour to a private company named "Sea Gulf UK" between August 1 and November 1 of 2014.
