Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Thisakutti Arachchi today (29) expressed his unconditional regret before the Colombo District Court over a statement he made regarding President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Arachchi, who appeared in court through his legal counsel, made the statement during proceedings of a case filed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who sought Rs. 10 billion in compensation for defamation caused by the remarks.
Following the expression of regret, the case was settled amicably with the agreement of both parties.
