The Department of Meteorology forecasted light showers are possible today (29) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern, and North Western provinces.
Strong winds gusting between 50-60 kmph are likely to occur from time to time over the western slopes of the Central hills, as well as in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern, North-Central, and North Western provinces, and the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
The department is requesting the public to take necessary steps to minimize the risks posed by the strong winds.
