Heavy rain warning for several provinces

The Department of Meteorology has announced that some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, Northern, and North-Central provinces of the island could experience heavy rainfall of about 100 millimeters within the next 24 hours.

The Department further stated that similarly heavy rain is expected in some areas of the Galle, Matara, and Trincomalee districts.

Additionally, the Department of Meteorology noted that the remaining areas of the island are also likely to experience rain or thundershowers this afternoon.
