The Department of Meteorology has stated that an increase in rainfall is anticipated from December 09 as the North-East Monsoon progressively establishes itself over the island.
The Director-General of the Department, Athula Karunanayake, confirmed that this weather pattern will lead to an increase in precipitation across the Northern, North Central, North Western, Eastern, and Uva Provinces.
Meanwhile, local reports from Badulla indicate that several areas in the Badulla District are currently experiencing rain.
