Three arrested in connection with Kosgama shooting

Two men and a woman were taken into custody yesterday (09) by officers of the Homagama Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau in the Thummodara area concerning the attempted fatal shooting of a person traveling in a three-wheeler on December 03 in the Borawagoda area of the Kosgama Police Division.

The three arrested include the alleged gunman who committed the offence, the motorcycle rider, and a suspect who aided and abetted the crime by providing lodging to the suspects.

The male suspects are residents of Ruwanwella and Thummodara, aged 31 and 45, while the female suspect is a 43-year-old resident of Thummodara.

Police recovered a revolver and a mobile phone allegedly used for the crime, based on the statements provided by the suspects.

The Homagama Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau continues to conduct further investigations into the incident.
