The Department of Meteorology forecasted showers or thunderstorms will occur intermittently in the North, North Central, Eastern, Central, and Uva provinces today (11).
Some places in the Northern Province will receive fairly heavy rainfall of about 50 mm.
Furthermore, isolated showers or thunderstorms will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Galle and Matara districts after 1:00 p.m.
Some areas in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Southern provinces will experience misty conditions during the early morning hours.
The department requests the public to take necessary steps to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that will accompany the thunderstorms.
