Financial donations for the government’s Rebuilding Sri Lanka programme, aimed at assisting victims of Cyclone Ditwah, were provided by estate workers from the Tilikuntri Estate in Thalawakale, Lindula.
A total of Rs. 181,100 was donated by 114 workers employed at the estate. These funds were recently credited to the official Rebuilding Sri Lanka account by the workers.
Community members of the Tilikuntri Estate expressed that people from across the country typically support the hill country during disasters, and they contributed earnings from their tea leaf harvesting to assist the government's efforts in national reconstruction.
