Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, departed the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) following a four-hour session to provide a statement.
She was previously summoned to appear before the FCID on the 27th regarding an ongoing investigation into the "Siriliya Saviya" project.
The appearance took place today after she originally requested a two-week grace period through her lawyers.
This delay allowed her to prepare before meeting with investigators to address the allegations surrounding the project's financial activities.
