Bill to scrap parliamentary pensions ruled constitutional

The Supreme Court has determined that the bill seeking to remove pensions for Members of Parliament aligns with the constitution, Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne announced in Parliament today.

The Speaker further informed the house that the Supreme Court cleared the bill for passage with a simple majority in Parliament.
