All exploration and mining licenses for heavy minerals remain suspended until a new National Mineral Policy is implemented.
Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti announced this decision during a special press conference held at the Ministry today.
The Minister explained that the suspension stays in effect until the new policy receives Cabinet approval and passes through Parliament.
The restriction specifically targets heavy minerals such as ilmenite, rutile, zircon, and garnet.
