Ranil Wickremesinghe pays respects to Devnimori relics

Former President and United National Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple in Colombo last Wednesday morning to pay homage to the Devnimori Sacred Relics brought from India.

While there, he inquired about historical details from the Indian official stationed at the relic exhibition, specifically asking if other items were discovered within the casket at the archaeological site.

The Indian official noted that silk was found within the casket.

"So you were dealing with China even back then, yet now you shout at us," Wickremesinghe remarked with a smile. The Indian official responded to his comment with laughter.
