A special occasion was organized at the Sri Dalada Maligawa today (16) for students appearing for this year's GCE Ordinary Level examination to worship and receive blessings from the Sacred Tooth Relic.
The event took place under the guidance of Tibbotuwawa Medhankara Nayaka Thero, who is in charge of the Dalada Maligawa's Thevava (services). A large number of students participated with great devotion in this blessing ceremony. During the program, students were granted the rare opportunity to enter the sacred Gandhakuti, where the Tooth Relic resides, to pay their respects.
Following the worship, Tibbotuwawa Medhankara Nayaka Thero blessed the children by tying pirit nulas (sacred threads) on their wrists and offered prayers for their success in the upcoming examinations.
