Staff negligence at the Avissawella Hospital caused the death of unborn twins, the father and relatives of the children allege.
A 35-year-old mother from the Getahetta area in Avissawella was admitted to the Avissawella District General Hospital the day before yesterday due to labour pains.
The children were already deceased when removed during a cesarean section performed yesterday (25), according to statements made by doctors to the father.
A report regarding these allegations has been immediately called for, Avissawella District General Hospital Director Dr Indika Wanninayake stated when inquired by the Hiru News division.
