Assistance across energy, technology, and machinery sectors remains available to Sri Lanka as it navigates challenges arising from the conflict in the Middle East. Russian Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marshavin shared this commitment during a meeting with the President at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday afternoon.
The visiting official emphasised that Russia stands ready to support the island nation beyond the energy sphere, offering technical expertise and industrial equipment. Before this high-level meeting, the Deputy Minister held discussions with Ministers Dr Anil Jayantha Fernando and Kumara Jayakody.
Following these sessions, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara confirmed that an agreement exists to supply refined Russian fuel to Sri Lanka.
