Ranil Wickremesinghe plans to return to Sri Lanka

Former President and United National Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is reportedly recovering fully following a recent medical procedure. Although doctors granted permission for his discharge, he remains in the hospital for a few additional days of rest under medical supervision.

Close associates suggested staying in Singapore to recuperate until after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year; however, Wickremesinghe maintains a firm stance on returning to Sri Lanka as soon as possible. He intends to manage political activities from home, expressing a desire to be present in the country during challenging times for the public. Consequently, he expects to arrive back in Sri Lanka within the next ten days. Senior party members continue to execute tasks based on his prior instructions and provide regular updates to the party leader during his stay in Singapore.
