The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) terminated its strike after Health Minister Dr Nalinda Jayatissa agreed to hold a discussion this coming Thursday. Doctors initiated the industrial action to protest the lack of adequate solutions regarding the medical transfer process.
The resolution follows a period of disruption at state hospitals, where the union had previously set a deadline for government engagement. With the commitment to formal talks, medical professionals are expected to resume their duties immediately.
