Substandard cosmetic manufacturing plant raided

Consumer Affairs Authority officials raided an establishment producing substandard creams falsely marketed as natural beauty products. These items were reportedly distributed and sold through various "spice gardens" across the country.

The manufacturing facility, located in the Kawudupalella area of Matale, was raided today (07). Reports indicate that these unstandardized creams were sold to foreigners at exorbitant prices.

The operation followed information obtained after a previous raid on a spice-related location in the Mawanella area.
