22-year-old stabbed to death

A man was killed with a sharp weapon in the Paranakade area of the Weligama police division last night (17).

Weligama police state that the victim was a 22-year-old resident of Paranakade, Weligama.

The deceased lived in a house with his mother, father, two brothers, and his mother's elder brother.

Investigations revealed that a dispute between the deceased and his mother's elder brother escalated, leading to the suspect attacking the victim with a sharp weapon.

A 58-year-old suspect involved in the crime is in custody. Weligama police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
