Atmospheric conditions will become conducive to evening thunderstorms across many parts of the island starting tomorrow, April 20.
The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thunderstorms in several locations across the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Western, North Central, and Southern provinces after 1:00 p.m.
Some areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, may experience fairly heavy falls of approximately 50 mm.
Mainly dry weather will prevail elsewhere, though misty conditions are expected in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts, during the early morning.
The department requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimise risks from lightning and temporary strong winds during thunderstorms.
