A special traffic plan will be implemented in Colombo tomorrow (28) , to facilitate the "Walk for peace Program Sri Lanka". The main ceremony, presided over by the President, is scheduled to take place at Independence Square, Colombo 07, at 4:00 PM.
According to the Police Media Division, vehicle movement will be restricted on several roads starting from 11:00 AM based on the prevailing situation.
The affected areas and roads include:
- Baseline Road from Bandaranaike Roundabout to Borella Junction.
- Maradana Road, Nandadasa Kodagoda Mawatha, and Ward Place.
- Zoysa Roundabout, Lipton Roundabout, and Dharmapala Mawatha.
- F.R. Senanayake Mawatha, C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, and Horton Roundabout.
- Nanda Motors area, Independence Avenue, and Premasiri Khemadasa Mawatha.
- Cambridge Place, Glass House, Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, and Library Dr Junction.
- Flower Road, Pittala Junction, James Peiris Mawatha, and Muttiah Road.
- Baybrooke Street, Staple Street, and roads surrounding the Gangaramaya Temple.
Police urge motorists and the public to use alternative routes during this period to minimise potential traffic congestion
