The database used for tax purposes remains unaffected and secure following a fire at the Kalutara Regional Office of the Inland Revenue Department yesterday (30).
Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Rukdevi P.H. Fernando stated that the main office controls the departmental data system alongside a data security centre, and maximum measures are in place to ensure its safety.
Efforts are currently underway to restore conditions quickly, provide system connectivity via a remote link, and resume normal office operations.
During this period, urgent duties required from the Kalutara office can be completed at the nearest regional office or through the tax service units located at the head office.
