According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this marks President Muizzu’s first visit to Sri Lanka since assuming office in 2023.
He will be accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, the Maldivian Foreign Minister, and several senior government officials.
During the visit, President Muizzu is expected to hold bilateral discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The talks will focus on strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

As part of his itinerary, the Maldivian President will visit key locations in Colombo, including Viharamahadevi Park, the National Museum of Colombo, the Maldivian High Commission, and the Maldivian Cultural Centre.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Police have announced a special traffic plan in Colombo due to the visit.
The plan will be in effect from this afternoon until May 6, covering several major routes including the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway, Borella, Library Junction, Galle Road, Galle Face Roundabout, and President’s Mawatha.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.
