A primary suspect involved in large-scale drug trafficking across Kandy and its suburbs using rented luxury vehicles was arrested in the Ranawana area of Katugastota. Police stated that a van and a stock of narcotics were seized during the operation.
At the time of the arrest, authorities took custody of 11,130 mg of heroin, 5,040 mg of ICE, and 150 pills. Additionally, four mobile phones used for the trade and a digital scale intended for weighing drugs were recovered. The suspect, a 31-year-old father of two residing in Ranawana, reportedly transported drugs discreetly from Colombo to distribute them across various locations in the Kandy district.
