Kurunegala municipal councillor resigns over corruption allegations

B.W. Premachandra, the municipal councillor representing the No. 01 Gangoda ward of the Kurunegala Municipal Council, resigned from his position.

He informed the Municipal Commissioner of the Kurunegala Municipal Council of this decision via a letter yesterday (5).

The councillor stated in his signed letter that he took this decision due to the inability to minimise informal administration, fraud, corruption, and waste within the municipal council.
