The Ministry of Energy has launched a special compensation programme for employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board who are voluntarily retiring under the institution’s restructuring process.

Organised under the theme “Proud Service – Safe Ending”, the programme aims to recognise employees who have rendered long-standing and exceptional service to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
Under the voluntary retirement scheme, (VRS) a total financial compensation package of Rs. 8.5 billion will be awarded to 1,898 employees.
The Ministry stated that the initiative has been designed to provide appreciation and financial security to employees transitioning from service as part of the ongoing restructuring efforts within the CEB.
