One in three Sri Lankans suffer from Hypertension

Health authorities say one in three people in Sri Lanka suffers from high blood pressure (HBP).

Heart-related diseases account for 34% of all deaths in the country, while 63.9% of people with high blood pressure do not receive treatment.

These facts were revealed in line with World Hypertension Day, observed on May 17.
