Writ petition filed to block electricity tariff hike

A writ petition has been filed before the Court of Appeal seeking an order to prevent an increase in electricity tariffs aimed at recovering losses caused by the import of substandard coal.

The petition was filed by Frontline Socialist Party Education Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda.
