The statement also notes that light rain may occur in the Anuradhapura District.

Strong winds of around 40–50 km/h may occur at times in the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central Provinces, as well as in the Hambantota and Trincomalee Districts.

The Department has also urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimise risks from temporary strong winds, lightning, and other hazards associated with thundershowers.
