Wind speed from Kankesanthurai to Kalpitiya likely to increase

Wind speed in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankesanthurai via Mannar to Kalpitiya can increase up to 60 to 70 kmph, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Taking into account the dangerous situation due to this, the department informs the naval and fishing communities to refrain from fishing and naval activities in the relevant sea areas until further notice.
