The court is scheduled to deliver its order today (10) on a request made by the Attorney General seeking directions for former State Intelligence Service Chief Suresh Sallay to be produced before a panel of specialist psychiatrists for evaluation and for a report to be obtained from the Director General of Health Services.
When the matter was taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara on June 4, following a motion filed by Sallay’s lawyers, the Magistrate informed court that the relevant order would be delivered today.
Meanwhile, the petition filed by retired Major General Suresh Sallay seeking a writ order to invalidate the detention directive issued for his arrest and remand is scheduled to be taken up again tomorrow for confirmation of facts.
