Senior citizens’ allowance delayed, says Dayasiri

Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara alleged that the Government has not paid senior citizens' allowance for the past two months.

He added that the increased concessionary interest rates established for senior citizens’ savings accounts, are no longer provided.

The MP made these remarks during today’s (11) parliamentary debate on the Mediation (Civil and Commercial Disputes) (Amendment) Bill and the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act regulation.
