Minister Nalinda Jayatissa says that the provincial council elections will be held once Parliament enacts the necessary law related to the provincial council election system.
He made this statement in response to a question from a journalist asking when the provincial council elections would be held.
The Minister also stated that the government has no intention of delaying elections and that funds required for conducting the elections have already been allocated.
He further said that it was this government that conducted elections previously postponed by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, adding that two elections have already been held under the current administration.
