Showers or thundershowers will occur at times today, the fourteenth, in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts. The Department of Meteorology stated this in its forecast.
Meanwhile, a few showers may occur in the Mannar and Anuradhapura districts.
Strong winds of about forty to fifty kilometres per hour will blow at times over the western slopes of the central hills, Northern and North-Central provinces, and in the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
Fairly strong winds of about thirty to forty kilometres per hour will blow at times in the remaining areas.
The public must take necessary precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
