Two alleged criminals deported from UAE and arrested at BIA

A brother of Modara Nipuna and another criminal known as Bloemendhal Sankha, who are allegedly two organised criminals and drug traffickers, were brought back to the island.

Reports indicated that these two suspects arrived in the country yesterday night, the thirteenth.

Security forces in the United Arab Emirates arrested and deported them while they stayed in Abu Dhabi.

Sources mentioned that the two arrested individuals remained imprisoned before their deportation to this country.

Airport Criminal Investigation Department officers arrested them after they arrived at the airport.

Following the recording of extensive statements, Modara Chathura was taken to the Colombo Central Crime Investigation Bureau.

Bloemendhal Sankha remains in the custody of airport Criminal Investigation Department officers for further statement recording.
