Showers expected across several provinces today

Several spells of showers may occur today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at places in the Uva province and in the Mullaitivu, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 p.m.

The Department of Meteorology requests the public to take necessary measures to minimise damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thundershowers.
