Passenger train services between Badulla and Nanu Oya are scheduled to resume from June 20, the Department of Railways informs.
It is stated that repair work on the Upcountry line, which was damaged by Cyclone Ditwah, has now been completed on the damaged section from Nanu Oya to Ambewela.
Accordingly, arrangements have been made to resume train operations on the Nanu Oya to Badulla section of the Upcountry line from June 20.
The Railways Department says that services will be operated under a special timetable.
It further states that maintenance work is still ongoing on several damaged sections of the upcountry line between Rambukkana and Nanu Oya.
